I created awareness among students about Azolla, a useful biofertilizer and nutritious feed for livestock. They learned that proper cultivation of Azolla can improve soil fertility, reduce the dependence on chemical fertilizers, and provide a protein-rich supplementary feed for cattle and other livestock. At the same time, they were made aware that uncontrolled growth, improper disposal, or cultivation in unsuitable conditions can negatively affect the environment by disturbing natural water bodies and ecosystems. Students were also educated about the correct method of growing Azolla in shallow, clean pits or containers with suitable soil, water, organic manure, and partial shade, along with regular maintenance and harvesting. Through this awareness, they can share the importance, benefits, and environmentally responsible cultivation of Azolla with others in the community.
