To Reducing Single-Use Plastic No matter how much we try to avoid them, single-use plastic carry bags continue to enter our homes in one way or another. After using them, we often throw them away. Gradually, these plastic bags accumulate in the soil, creating plastic landfills that prevent rainwater from seeping into the ground. As a result, groundwater recharge is reduced, flooding becomes more frequent, and the environment suffers. Some people even burn these plastic bags, releasing toxic gases that contribute to severe air pollution. We also see animals accidentally consuming plastic, which often leads to illness or death. However, we can make a significant difference through one simple action. Instead of discarding plastic carry bags, we can stuff them tightly into empty plastic water bottles, as demonstrated in the video. This prevents loose plastic from spreading into the environment and becoming part of plastic landfills. By doing so, we can help protect Mother Earth. If we introduce this simple activity to our students, they will carry the practice into their homes, creating awareness among their families. Together, we can build a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations. I sincerely request all teachers to start this initiative from today itself and take a meaningful step towards solving the plastic pollution problem.
